Kansas State University | Office Park Phase III

Grain Valley, Missouri, is rapidly growing. From a population of about 15,000, it's expected to surge to over 20,000 by 2025. This growth spurt presented a challenge: the municipal building opened in 2001 was quickly becoming too small. Despite a setback in 2020 when residents voted against two bond issues for a new facility, the city didn't give up.
In 2021, they issued a new request for proposals, and Hoefer Welker was chosen to help make a new police headquarters a reality. Thanks to collaborative efforts with city and community leaders, a bond election passed in 2022, clearing the path for Hoefer Welker to design the new state-of-the-art police headquarters.
This new facility isn't just a building; it's a future-proof hub designed to expand as needed. It will feature more secure holding areas, meet all state police requirements, offer improved record storage, secure evidence processing, and ensure safer environments for staff, officers, and visitors. The design emphasizes openness and natural light, with an inviting entrance and break room. It also includes essential support areas like a fitness center, quiet rooms, and locker rooms, making it a modern and functional space for Grain Valley's needs.
