The $1.5 billion Grandscape mixed-use development in The Colony quite possibly has something for everyone.
The 433-acre development is home to a 560,000-square-foot Nebraska Furniture Mart; a 331,000-square-foot Scheels sporting goods store, complete with an indoor Ferris wheel; a 100,000-square-foot Andretti Indoor Karting and Games; dozens of restaurants; an artificial lawn facing a stage where free concerts happen on the weekends; and the ability to walk around with a beer, wine or a cocktail.
Soon, the development will have its first apartments thanks to the 345-unit Live Grandscape by Lanoha Development Company. The project will deliver next year. Perhaps not long after, a big corporate tenant could also be calling Grandscape home.
Last week, Dallas-based developer Cawley Partners revealed plans for three new office towers at Grandscape, each standing 17 stories tall and each measuring 500,000 square feet. They will be located along Destination Drive and would be built in phases. No start date has been set for the project.
With all the amenities that Grandscape currently offers, the development team behind the office towers say space for corporate users was the obvious next step.
“The offices to me are brilliance for this development and vice versa. I don’t think there are any other offices in the Metroplex that offer these kinds of amenities,” said Rob Welker, president of Hoefer Welker, which designed the new office towers.
