The National Institutes of Health, part of the U.S. Dept. of Health and Human Services, is the nation’s medical research agency, and seeks to enhance health, lengthen life, and reduce illness and disability. The NIH headquarters, located in Bethesda, Maryland, includes more than 75 buildings across a 300-acre campus. Several of these buildings were commissioned more than 50 years ago and are now obsolete. New, safe, compliant, sustainable and flexible facilities are needed to support the Institutes’ cutting-edge research and optimal patient care.
