The current facility has been deemed outdated and unable to meet the community's growing needs. In order to bring the city up to modern standards, Hoefer Welker was selected to design a brand-new state-of-the-art station. This groundbreaking marks a significant milestone for the community, having another facility closer gives them peace of mind.
Chief Ted Martin states that it "will enhance our current services that already excel in fire rescue operations, risk reduction, and emergency preparedness."
This impactful station has been in the making for two decades now and is predicted to give an average response time of 4.5 minutes. The average time currently is 12.5 minutes.
