Baptist Health South Florida | Sunrise Hospital

Baptist Health Sunrise Hospital will be Baptist Health South Florida's first hospital in Broward County, expanding access to inpatient, emergency and surgical care in the fast-growing communities of Sunrise and western Broward. Scheduled to open in 2029, the seven-story, 340,000-square-foot facility will include 100 inpatient beds, including 10 critical care beds; a 30-bed emergency department with three triage areas; four surgical suites with robotic-assisted capabilities; and a 25,000-square-foot medical office building for outpatient and specialty services

Hoefer Welker's Clinical Technology Solutions team is providing medical equipment planning, procurement, construction support, and delivery and installation for the new campus. Much of that work begins long before any equipment arrives. Imaging, surgery, and sterile processing depend on equipment that is heavy, shielded, and utility-intensive, and systems like ceiling-mounted patient lifts carry their own structural and rough-in demands, all of which have to be coordinated with the design and construction team well ahead of delivery. Resolving those requirements early is what allows the building and its equipment to come together as one working clinical environment.

CTS is coordinating that work across the hospital's clinical spaces, including diagnostic imaging, surgery, central sterile processing, emergency and critical care, and inpatient units. The scope also extends to the clinical technology that connects those spaces, including patient monitoring, telemetry, nurse call, and medication management, which the team plans as an integrated system rather than a set of separate purchases. Working alongside the owner, design and construction teams, and equipment vendors, CTS carries these decisions from early planning through installation.
