Hoefer Welker is leading the design of the major redevelopment of Bank of America Plaza, Dallas’s tallest and most recognizable skyscraper. Built in 1985, the 72-story tower has long been a landmark of the city’s skyline. The project’s goal is to reposition the building for the future, transforming it from a traditional office tower into a mixed-use destination with updated office spaces, a new 4-star hotel, and street-level retail and dining.

The design modernizes more than 1.5 million square feet of interior space and introduces new public amenities, including a rooftop restaurant and observation area. A new hotel addition, connected by a glass-and-steel structure, will bring activity and hospitality to the site at all hours of the day. At the street level, expanded pedestrian areas and retail storefronts will create a more connected experience for downtown visitors, employees, and residents.

Through this redevelopment, Bank of America Plaza will once again serve as a central anchor in downtown Dallas, supporting economic growth, urban activity, and a stronger connection between people and the city.
