Focusing on sustainability, Leawood-based Hoefer Welker was behind the recently opened a Veterans Affairs facility in Lenexa, and it has another under construction in San Antonio, Texas, the 30th outpatient clinic it has designed since 1996.
Designing a total of 3.5 million square feet of outpatient facilities, in partnership with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, Hoefer Welker’s VA development footprint spans 12 states. The more two dozen instrumental and sustainable designs deliver outpatient, community-based health care services to veterans, including primary care, mental health, radiology, optometry, multi-specialty, physical medicine and rehabilitation, audiology and pathology services.
“Our work with the VA is unlike any other client — it’s a partnership with a shared goal, which is to provide high-quality care that’s responsive to veterans’ needs,” Hosam Habib, partner and director of design at Hoefer Welker, said in a release.
