Sherman, Texas (September 17, 2019) — The City of Sherman’s Planning and Zoning Commission has recommended approval of a 624-acre planned development application known as the Village Planned Development. The recommendation clears the way for the City Council to consider the property’s rezoning at its October 6 meeting.
The Munson Realty Company has owned the property, which is located off of FM 1417 and Travis Street near the new Sherman High School, for decades. The Company and its membership has been committed to Sherman, Denison and Grayson County for more than 140 years. The city and the Sherman ISD approached the company about needing infrastructure to support the high school, and the company has given easements in response to the requests. The company has also supported the Village Planned Development in an effort to assist the City of Sherman in attracting quality development to the area.
