Wolfson Children's Hospital | Pediatric Inpatient Behavioral Health Unit

Baptist Health in Jacksonville, Florida, serves inpatient adult and pediatric behavioral health patients with various acuities. Currently, the pediatric inpatient behavioral health unit is over 200% over capacity and mixes high and low-acuity patients. The new 20-patient-bed inpatient behavioral health unit will bring much-needed bed space for the highest-risk pediatric behavioral health patients.

The new inpatient unit is split into two 10-bed units and can flex utilization based on population needs (age, gender, acuity level, etc.). Each half has its own set of patient bathrooms, activity and social rooms, group therapy and consult spaces, and nurse station. The central core provides shared staff support spaces, including offices, workrooms, supply and equipment rooms, nourishment and medication spaces, and a seclusion suite accessed from both units.
