This state-of-the-art facility provides a wide range of medical services to veterans in Columbus and the Chattahoochee Valley. In addition to primary care, the clinic’s services include women’s and mental health care, dental, optometry, physical therapy, prosthetics, and teletraumatic brain injury.

Robert S. Poydasheff VA Clinic exterior design and finishes create a park-like setting where the building rises out of the landscape. The design team chose materials with a natural look and feel, such as brick veneer, Low-E insulated laminated glass, and wood-look metal cladding to reinforce the healing environment.

The overall design is intuitive and open. The team used architectural elements and materials to reinforce circulation patterns, reducing the amount of wayfinding signage needed. Reception desks are located along the concourse and are visible and accessible from any point within this public space. A front-of-house corridor parallels the main public concourse and is used for patient circulation to/from exam rooms and treatment spaces. A secondary, back-of-house corridor allows staff and materials to circulate without impacting the patient experience, maintaining a calm, quiet environment within the patient care spaces.
