Propio Language Services is one of the fastest-growing interpreting and translation companies in the world. Headquartered in the Kansas City metro, the company serves a wide range of healthcare, government, and private sector clients—and has expanded rapidly through recent acquisitions. As the team continued to grow, Propio needed a new headquarters that could better support its people and reflect its evolving identity.
The new office spans two connected buildings in Overland Park, totaling more than 80,000 square feet. While the space offered the room Propio needed, it came with a unique set of challenges. The existing interiors were outdated and filled with curved walls, round skylights, and interior windows. Natural light was limited, and much of the layout no longer fit the way the company works today.
Rather than start from scratch, the design team chose to build on the existing architecture. The curves in the architecture paired naturally with Propio’s circular logo, inspiring new lighting features, floor patterns, and subtle design details. The client asked for a clean, modern look, so the materials were kept light and simple, with texture and contrast bringing visual interest.
The lower level features a full range of amenities, including a café, gym, yoga and health studio, locker rooms, and a spacious training area. A flexible event space on the second floor, known as the Propio Pub, supports both team gatherings and client events. Office space on the upper floors provides the flexibility Propio needs as the company continues to grow.
