Santikos Entertainment Cibolo - Hoefer Welker

Written by Hoefer Welker | April 13, 2021

Santikos Entertainment is part of Louis Santikos’ legacy, which began as Santikos Theaters in the San Antonio area in 1911. The enterprise was expanded and operated by Louis’ son, John, until his passing in 2014. Through the John L. Santikos Charitable Foundation, John Santikos gifted much of his estate to the San Antonio Area Foundation to carry on his mission to strengthen the San Antonio community through philanthropy and development.

Santikos Entertainment’s newest location, in Cibolo, Texas, is an important component of realizing Mr. Santikos’ vision. The new complex is designed to provide best-in-class entertainment experiences through leading-edge technology, comfortable surroundings, exceptional service and opportunities to connect and engage with others. Profits from the entire Santikos Entertainment enterprise, which now includes nine locations, will be reinvested in the San Antonio community through grants, donations, scholarships and programming.

Santikos Entertainment Cibolo serves the fast-growing City of Cibolo, which has a population of 30,000, and neighboring communities. Like many cinema operators, Santikos Entertainment continually strives to expand its offerings to attract visitors. The Cibolo complex encompasses many features from its other locations, resulting in an exciting and fun destination that includes super-sized movie screens with in-theater lounge seating and dining, a bar and restaurant, bowling alley, arcade, and laser tag. This is Santikos Entertainment’s first full-scale family entertainment center and will serve as an anchor for a new retail center with high-end restaurants and upscale retail.
