JPS Health Network Medical Outpatient Building

Written by Hoefer Welker | January 20, 2026

JPS Health Network is the public hospital system for Tarrant County and provides essential care to a fast-growing and diverse community. To meet rising demand for outpatient services and support a major campus modernization effort, JPS is developing a new Medical Outpatient Building that expands access to care and creates a more coordinated patient experience.

The nine-story facility brings together diagnostic imaging, laboratory and pharmacy services, ambulatory surgery, endoscopy, women’s imaging, and multi-specialty clinics in a single, purpose-built environment. A modular clinic pod strategy improves workflow and ensures that the building can adapt as service volumes and clinical models evolve. Clear circulation paths, shared support zones, and standardized exam modules strengthen operational efficiency and support team-based care.

The design presents the building as a welcoming gateway to the campus. Generous glazing provides daylight and intuitive wayfinding, while a landscaped public plaza creates space for community gathering and wellness activities. The building connects directly to an adjacent parking structure through a series of elevated pathways and is planned to integrate with a future pedestrian link to the replacement hospital.

The project reflects the health system’s commitment to modern, patient-focused design and long-term regional investment.
