Gloria Drummond Patient Tower at Boca Raton Regional Hospital

Written by Hoefer Welker | July 14, 2026

As part of Boca Raton Regional Hospital's largest expansion, the Gloria Drummond Patient Tower brings together 184 private patient rooms, 20 operating rooms, advanced imaging, pharmacy, critical care, and medical education in a single facility built to meet the region's growing healthcare needs.

Delivering a facility of this scale involves thousands of equipment decisions that shape room layouts, utility requirements, project budgets, and procurement schedules. In specialized environments, such as a hybrid operating room built around an intraoperative MRI, equipment planning has to be coordinated with the building's infrastructure from the earliest stages of design. Hoefer Welker's CTS team coordinated that effort, translating clinical requirements into equipment plans and carrying the process from programming and design through procurement, construction, and installation.

Working with the owner, design team, and equipment vendors, CTS coordinated equipment requirements throughout design and construction to align clinical needs with project schedules and building systems. By keeping equipment planning aligned with the broader project, the team helped clinical spaces reach readiness as construction was completed.
