The Bank of Labor faced significant challenges operating from outdated and scattered headquarters in downtown Kansas City, Kansas. The inefficient layout restricted collaboration, employee morale, and overall productivity. To address these issues, the client envisioned a consolidated, modern headquarters with over 30 private offices and workstations for 100+ employees, fostering a collaborative and engaging environment.
Hoefer Welker partnered closely with Bank of Labor from the earliest stages, selecting and test-fitting potential office spaces before identifying the perfect location. The new 26,200-square-foot headquarters in Overland Park, Kansas, included a 2,000-square-foot bank branch. Our team collaborated with the client to explore layouts, ensuring the design solution fully met their needs. Movable glass walls, which provided flexibility by allowing the training and break rooms to merge into a single, ample space for events. Noteworthy challenges required creative approaches, such as designing around a raised access floor. Our approach incorporated ramps with tiling that seamlessly blend into the design while meeting code requirements.
Our team’s design not only reflects the bank's commitment to its people but also positions it for future growth. The new headquarters represents a bold step forward, supporting both operational excellence and the bank's longstanding dedication to the community it serves.
