Tarrant County commissioners have unanimously selected Hoefer Welker as the design firm for the new JPS Health Network medical office building on Magnolia Avenue. This significant step forward is part of the hospital district's $800 million bond program, approved by voters in 2018. The estimated cost of the medical office building is $112 million, with an additional $63 million allocated for a parking garage on Magnolia Avenue. Both projects will be constructed on the current JPS Professional Office Complex parking lot.

The proposed design includes clinic pods, ambulatory and administrative services, retail space, and a rooftop open to community use. Hoefer Welker aims to foster community involvement by incorporating a community plaza and open yard between the medical office building and the parking garage. This green space is intended for workouts, classes, and community gatherings.

Hoefer Welker, known for its previous work on projects such as the TCU Burnett School of Medicine and the Methodist Health facility, will also design JPS's pavilion north expansion. This expansion will connect existing hospital facilities to future towers.

John Castorina, partner at Hoefer Welker, expressed their enthusiasm for working with JPS and their commitment to incorporating JPS's strategic needs into the design.
