There is no mistaking that the new Argentine Library is going to become a centerpiece of the neighborhood when it opens in 2012. In an area that has seen its share of challenges, the library will provide an architectural icon and a focal point for the whole neighborhood. Replacing an aging and outdated facility, the new library will be flooded with natural light, flexible in its configurations and wired for today’s technology.
The Argentine Library is funded by the Kansas City, Kansas school system, but will be open as a resource and a centerpiece for the whole community. Inside, there will be something for everyone – study areas, flexible stacks, conference rooms, art areas, a children’s story time area and even a community room.
