The new $53 million mental wellness campus in Kansas City, Kansas, opened in December 2024, is a joint venture between Children’s Mercy Kansas City and Camber Mental Health. Designed by Hoefer Welker, this 72,700 square-foot facility addresses the growing demand for inpatient mental health treatment for both pediatric and adult patients. It offers 72 beds, with separate units for children and adults, and provides trauma-focused behavioral healthcare. The facility features calming treatment spaces, courtyards, and activity areas, aiming to create a safe and supportive environment. It is expected to serve about 3,400 people annually, addressing the rising mental health needs in the area. The project also created 150 new healthcare jobs, supported by contributions from various foundations and the State of Kansas.
