Dedicated resources, an entrepreneurial spirit and long-lasting relationships in the Southeast area have proven to be the bedrock of Hoefer Welker and its team leading the new office in Jacksonville, Florida.
“We’ve built our practice around relationship-driven work, and our projects are a direct reflection of our clients’ mission and their impacts on communities throughout the Southeast,” says Trevor Lee, Hoefer Welker’s managing partner in the Jacksonville office. Lee came to the firm with strong industry relationships and a formidable portfolio of work in both healthcare and commercial architecture. Since joining the firm in 2021, Lee has been building a talented team that is expected to double in size by the end of 2023. “It’s been rewarding to watch our team’s passion for architecture and how their work is transforming people’s lives and shaping communities.
From designing state-of-the-art healthcare facilities and a wide range of commercial architecture, including offices, multifamily housing and mixed-use developments, Hoefer Welker believes opportunities will only continue to grow. The influx of people living, working, and retiring in Jacksonville brings demand for all types of projects, from innovative healthcare designs to inspired workplace environments.
Hoefer Welker is already working on critical projects in the region, including:
Jacksonville Baptist Medical Center. The firm is currently renovating the Baptist Downtown Emergency Center, a complex project that requires the ED to be fully operational during construction. As the area’s largest emergency center, the hospital can’t accommodate even a single hour of shutdown time. The renovation includes:
AdventHealth Hendersonville. The Jacksonville team is leading the design of this new, free-standing medical office building and surgery center focused on orthopedic and spine care. The Hendersonville facility is expected to transform access to specialty care for rural North Carolina residents.
Riverplace Mixed-Use Development. The Jacksonville team is imagining a new place for residents to live, shop and dine on the south bank. This downtown Jacksonville project is more than 400 units of high-end residential and will have 50,000 sf of retail, including a signature rooftop bar and restaurant.
Auld and White Headquarters. Auld and White is one of Jacksonville’s oldest and most well-respected contractors in the region. It selected Hoefer Welker to imagine its new headquarters to improve its operational workflow and provide an inspirational workplace for its employees for the next generation.
As the Jacksonville team continues to design industry-leading healthcare, multifamily and commercial developments, the region is growing and is ripe with opportunity to expand into additional architectural design markets, including mixed-use and civic projects. Still, it will remain front and center that we focus on how clients’ missions are fulfilled and how architectural design brings a community together.
The Jacksonville team is also committed to strengthening the community through service. For example, Lee is a sitting board member for the Jacksonville Chamber of Commerce, and the Jacksonville Downtown Development Review Board, offering expertise and guidance on development projects to shape the future of the city’s development. Other Jacksonville office team members volunteer their time and money to philanthropic efforts that are important to client partners in the area, sponsoring charity golf tournaments, runs and participating in pro bono work.
